Turning 30 - is it the end of an era?
Barely a month after entering the 30s, it is still to hit me. Age is hardly of concern in childhood or in your teens. The 20's are a time of discovery new friends, new experiences, the first kiss was a long time ago and you take it as your right to be wrapping yourself in some ones arms. And of course - money - lots of it of that hasn't come from your dad's pockets but for which you slog the whole month.
Till 26 arrives. Friends point out to that solitary strand oa grey hair and fill you with dread for the looming and perilious 30s. A slight flab leads to paranoia and visions of sitting morose, slumped on the couch, nursing a drink at the GB party.
26, 27, 28 - breezes by before you have time to take stock. At 29, start making plans of things to do before you are 30 - have to learn to swim, drive (tats not uncommon here), bungee jump, get a tattoo.
Well 30 is here and still havent got a tatoo. Will get it this year.
Joe went to Chang's (mr Dentist) clinic. Called up to say he will be at home with his parents most of the week - he may come on thursday night.
better get going - planning to make dinner - have to call up mom
